Leave a handful of *Hershey chocolate kisses somewhere that your partner would find them during the day (car seat, briefcase, purse). You may even want to attach a note.

If she tells you that she has a doctor's appointment/job interview or anything of that nature...ask her how it went the next time you talk to her. To score more points with this one, call (or email) her just to ask how it went (the main purpose of your call/email is that you want to know how her whatever went). If she isn't home, leave a short message on her answering machine telling her you were just calling to see how it went and tell her you hope it went well.

The next time you two are walking together reach over and take her hand, squeeze it gently and continue to hold it while walking.

One time I went out and bought my girlfriend a small hand held mirror and on the back of it I wrote: "Now you can see why I'm so happy". This was an inexpensive idea and she really liked it.

When you tell a girl she's beautiful, she will either accept it or deny it. My girlfriend is the kind that denies it. One time she came to my house and I told her she was beatiful, she just smiled and said she didn't see how. So I stood her up covered her eyes and put her in front of the mirror. When she opened her eyes and saw herself I gave her a red rose and told her: "This is how beautiful looks". She loved it.

I wanted to stand out from the rest when I asked my date to prom. My date went to another highschool, so this was even harder to pull off. I left a rose, attached with a little note that said "Will You...", sitting on her desk in her first hour class. She had no idea where it came from or how it got there, no one around knew. Second hour, some people came into her classroom to drop off the second rose attached with a note that said, "Go to...". Again, she was clueless to who it might have came from. A few hours later, a rose was placed where she normally eats lunch and it was attached with a note that said "Prom with...". Finally, I walked into her last hour class with the last rose that said "Me!" and I asked her out to prom in front of the entire physics class.

Ask yourself this question daily: "If this woman next to me were not mine, what one thing could I do today to endear her to me."

During or after a rain storm, walk on the side of her that is beside the street. That way whenever a car passes by, the water will not splash up on her.

I have been married for thirty years this month to my best friend. We have been through ups and downs like all couples and after five children I am still so thankful that romance is as much alive as it was the first day I looked into this man's kind eyes and sweet smile. I have used a tip that my grandmother gave me on the day I was married. She told me to set the alarm clock for a half an hour earlier than I needed to be up each day. Then to go and sit quietly where I feel the most at peace. I then spend the time remembering what it was that made me fall in love with him in the first place and to think of all the times which he held my hand when I cried or rejoiced in my success. Then I go and wake him up telling him thank you. When he asks why, I always tell him just for being you.

The sweetest thing I've seen: My friend’s girlfriend got a printout of her heartbeat (she's a nurse) and gave it to him with a note on it reading: "This is my heart beating your name". If you know somebody that has access to a heart monitor or you happen to be at the doctor hooked up to one, try to get a printout and try this.

Put a note in your husband's lunch or in his car on the anniversary of your first date. On the note ask if he remembers the importance of this day. When he comes home have a trail of flower petals leading him from clue to clue. At the final stop present him with an invitation for an evening of re-enacting that first date.

Fill an envelope with romantic ideas for her to reach in and pick out with her eyes closed. Ideas such as...Take turns feeding each other with your eyes closed...Slow dance together to a song while never taking your eyes off one another...Just kiss for an hour...

Pull out her chair when you're sitting down to eat. It sounds old fashioned but it still has a flattering effect on the person.

Buy a friendship card for your partner. The type that you would buy for your best friend. This is sweet because it emphasizes the aspect of friendship that your relationship hopefully has.

One of the best ways to show you care is to do the things your mate considers to be caring and romantic. How do you know? ASK! Make a list of the top ten caring behaviors and romantic guestures that you value most. Ask your partner to do the same. Try to do at least two each day for your partner. (ex: listen to me, make me laugh, pick me a bouquet of flowers, tell me your thinking of me).
